This is a multi-faceted workshop and artistic experience, combining practical and theoretical art instruction in studio with guided tours and visits to some of Italy’s most esteemed art collections and museums. Savour the atmosphere of Rome and infuse your original painting projects with your experience and learning. You will be shown age-old methods and techniques, which you will then apply to your own modern or contemporary painting.
The workshop includes:
- 24 hours of art instruction
- 6+ hours of museum visits
- Most art materials (oil paint, mediums, solvents, canvas, etc.) will be supplied
- 20-page handbook
- Printed reference images
- Live demonstrations
- Feedback and critique
- Shipping of your painting(s) when they’ve dried
- Post-workshop follow-up help and support

Guided Museum Visits
The 5-day workshop includes two guided museum visits to Gallerie Nazionali d’Arte Antica: Palazzo Barberini and Galleria Borghese on Wednesday, 20th May 2026.
Optional Extra Day: Saturday 23rd May 2026
If you decide to add an extra day to the workshop, Saturday, 23rd May 2026, you will be given a guided visit of Galleria Corsini in the morning and Villa Farnesina in the afternoon. Galleria Corsini is part of the National Gallery of Art and is located on Via della Lungara in the Trastevere district. Villa Farnesina is situated just across the street from this. We will have lunch in Trastevere – a vibrant and atmospheric district of Rome.
