Terms & Conditions

Please ensure that you have read the Terms & Conditions below before enrolling for any of my online or studio courses or workshops. You should also read the Important Information tab on the course and workshop webpage.

Prerequisites

Please check all aspects of the course or workshop you would like to join before paying for it. This information is available on each course and workshop webpage. If you are unsure, please contact me.

Age Suitability

My courses and workshops are designed for adults only and the minimum age requirement is 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.

Fees & Payments

Payments

All courses must be booked online at www.adriancooke.ie

Fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. This means that you cannot enrol and pay for one course, then cancel and transfer the fees to another course. There are limited places on each course and workshop, and once enrolled, there is no repeal.

Refunds

You will be refunded in full for any courses, workshops or individual classes that are cancelled by me. This may happen, for example, if the minimum number of students required to run a course is not reached or for other reasons, including illness.

You will not be refunded for a course or workshop or individual classes if you have a change of mind or cannot attend for any reason.

Deposits

Deposits will not be accepted. Courses and workshops must be paid in full and before the course or workshop begins.

Course or Workshop Cancellations

Adrian Cooke reserves the right to cancel any course or workshop at any time and for any reason. The most common reason for the cancellation of a course or workshop would be if the minimum number of students required is not reached. In such cases, your fee will be fully refunded.

It is recommended that you take out insurance to cover any travel or accommodation costs in the unlikely event that a course or workshop is cancelled.

Government-mandated lockdowns

In the event of a government or World Health Organisation mandated lockdown – as we experienced during the Covid pandemic – or any disruption due to government policies, for whatever reason, all studio courses will be continued online through Zoom’s video conferencing platform.

By enrolling for a studio-based course or workshop, you are agreeing to continue your course or workshop online should circumstances demand this. You will not be entitled to a refund.

Dates

Please check the dates of classes for each course. Course durations vary, and there might be irregular breaks within them for various reasons. Over longer courses especially, we usually break for at least one week half-way through a longer course.

Non-Attendance

If you cannot attend a class(es) or workshop day(s), you will forfeit it. You will receive notes and some instructions from that missed class.

Online Courses & Products

Payment, refund policy and user interaction with any of our online courses and products follow the regulations laid down by EU in relation to online purchasing of services.

Health & Safety

Illness

In the light of the recent Covid pandemic, if you are ill, I would ask you – for your own welfare as well as the well-being of other students – not to attend physical classes.

Studio Practices

Hand-washing is essential and recommended before, during and after any of our classes.

All studio spaces are well-ventilated during each class.

Paints & Materials

Oil paints, solvents and mediums (such as mineral spirits, turpentine and linseed oil) are used on certain courses, and these have a small and safe degree of toxicity but can emit strong fumes, which may cause headaches, drowsiness and skin irritations.

Odourless solvents (turpentine, mineral spirits, etc.) are therefore recommended.
